Guest Policy

Guests and Gatherings

Housing and Residence Life will allow fully vaccinated people the option to not wear face masks and to not have to maintain social distancing in our facilities. We will continue to require visitors to display the #CampusClear app regardless of vaccine status as this allows our student health and employee health teams to support people who may be experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms.

Residential Guest Policy

As of May 19, 2021, SLU's Residential Guest Policy will be returned to the below status:

Guest Check-In: All guests must present one of the following forms of photo identification (ID) in order to be signed in to a residence hall/apartment complex:

  • U.S. state-issued driver license
  • U.S. state-issued non-driver identification
  • Student ID from a high school or another college or university
  • Passport
  • Another government ID; including foreign governments’ IDs.

Forms of identification that are not acceptable include bank cards, telephone and credit cards. The resident host must come to the lobby, to sign-in their guest/s and is required to escort their guest at all times. At the end of a visit, that same host must accompany their guest/s to the lobby to sign them out in the guest register.

Guest Hours: Students living in any University managed residence hall/apartment may check in guests at the front desk during the following hours:

Sunday 7 a.m. - Monday 2 a.m.
Monday 7 a.m. - Tuesday 2 a.m.
Tuesday 7 a.m. - Wednesday 2 a.m.

Thursday 7 a.m. - Friday 2 a.m.
Friday 7 a.m. - Saturday 4 a.m.
Saturday 7 a.m. - Sunday 4 a.m.

Residents and guests must adhere to the check-out times defined at each front desk. Although the Village Apartments and Grand Forest Apartments do not have a front desk, it is expected that residents of those apartments follow the visitation hours outlined in this policy.

Guest Overnight Policy: COVID-19-related restrictions are being lifted at this time for residents and guests. Guest/s of residents can be checked in for a maximum of 72 consecutive hours from the point of check-in. If the resident fails to check the guest/s out of the building during this time, the student will be documented.
