When did you graduate from 91¿ì»îÁÖand with what degree?

I graduated from 91¿ì»îÁÖin 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a minor in German studies.

What was the best part of being a part of the German program at 91¿ì»îÁÖ– or a favorite memory?

For me, the best part of being in the German program at 91¿ì»îÁÖwas the group of people that I got to share that experience with. I made friends that I otherwise never would have known, and the professors were always supportive. Over my four years of taking German at SLU, I went from being a very nervous speaker to feeling confident in my skills.

Why would you recommend taking German at 91¿ì»îÁÖto other Billikens?

I would recommend taking German at 91¿ì»îÁÖbecause you not only learn the language, you also learn about German history, art, literature, and culture along the way.

What are you doing now?

Currently, I am getting my Master of Arts in Art History at the University of Kansas. I am a graduate teaching assistant.

In what way did your German minor prepare you for what you do now?

To enter my M.A. program, I had to pass a foreign language exam, so my German minor provided me with the skills to easily pass the exam. In the field of art history, German is a very important language to know for research purposes.
